TALES FROM THE UFO CLUB
This amusing slide lecture tells how a group of women banned together for mutual support against UFOs and how they devised a 12-Step program to beat this problem. By hearing some real-life stories of personal achievement you will come to a true understanding of the UFO Club's motto, "Done is good!"

GROUND ZERO
This lecture is a very moving slide presentation about my quilt, Ground Zero. I used 621 images of people who died at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, to create a Lone Star quilt that captures the emotional impact of the collapse of the twin towers. The lecture also captures people's reactions to the event then and now.

GROUND ZERO
If it is available I will bring my quilt, Ground Zero, to your guild. The presentation will be in the form of questions and answers about the quilt. I will share what inspired me to amke this quilt.

RUST-TEX: TECHNIQUES FOR DYEING WITH RUST
This Power Point Presentation and demonstration will show several techniques developed by me to create my signature Rust-Tex fabric using rust to make unique patterns on cotton, silk, linen, and polyester.

QUILTS THROUGH THE YEARS
This entertaining and educational lecture features quilts from 1840 through 1940 presented with tips that teach historic quilt dating categories and how to build a quilt collection. I bring about 20 quilts from my collection to illustrate the lecture. This lecture is not given outside of driving distance from Madison, WI.

Grapevine Wreath Wallhanging
Learn all about bobbinwork as you create a one of a kind weath. This workshop includes instruction on how to adjust the bobbin tension of the sewing machine to do bobbin work and the all important how to set it back again. Also how to do free motion machine embroidery. Once you know this technique you can sew grapevines on everything from clothing and linens to framed samplers. The wallhanging for this class is 12" square.

Raggedy Hearts
You can't make a mistake making this heart-warming 31" x 25" wallhanging.  This is a great pattern for using small amounts of fabric to get big results and it is a great place to practice free motion machine quilting.

TALL PINE TREES WALLHANGING
You can create this striking, 54"x 54", wallhanging designed by Lois Jarvis using off-center log cabin blocks to make the tall pine trees and quarter-cut triangles to make the striking zig-zag border.

Rust Dyeing
In this class students will learn how to create interesting patterns on natural and man made fibers using naturally occurring iron oxide. Lois will share with her students the techniques she uses to create her Rust-Tex line of fabrics.

The workshop will teach you the how  and why to set up your home sewing machine, for free motion machine quilting.
